In the time it takes to put a glove on

Four o'clock in the morning, the dogs are ready to go out. Yeah, okay. I put my coat on. I want to put the flashlight in my pocket, so I take the glove out of my pocket. The glove is in my hand, so I put it on. Then I put on the other glove. Then we go out.

No flashlight.
